The Server on this issue Gives me an error code of 800A01AD, "ActiveX Component Can't Create Object: 'schedule.service'".

I have one Windows Server 2003.

I have 25 Windows 7 Pro computers and 6 Windows XP Pro computers.

Only one of my Computers will allow users to log in and see their home folder. No other computer will. Nor will it allow them to connect to any other shared folders on the server except the Administration folder which is for certain individuals, but they can access that.

Help is appreciated.

When do you get this message? When logging in? Running a program? In the Event Viewer?

You can only login at one computer? Or only one computer shows their home folder? What do you mean home folder? A drive letter mapped to a user’s folder on the server? That would be controlled through Active Directory or through a script.

Nor will it allow them to connect to any other shared folders on the server except the Administration folder which is for certain individuals, but they can access that.

Are the shared folders mapped through a login script? Does the user have permissions to the share as well as ntfs permissions on the folder?

I get the message when I login to the Server itself.

Their home folder meaning the folder that is only seen by that user. All which are created on drive "H" mine is "lawrence.c.hammer" on "H" drive. This is all set up with a script, see below.

Everything is created through a logon script.

All of this was completed by a Server Manager out of DC whos wife is with our organization. They are getting a divorce now he is no longer willing to help us, which could be understandable.

This is our startup script:

;Map Network Drives
;If InGroup("HomeFolders")
; use H: "\\nctcserver1.nctc.local\HomeFolders$\"+@userid+""
;EnDIf
If InGroup("Administration")
use U: "\\nctcserver1\Administration""
EnDIf
If InGroup("SeniorStaff")
use P: "\\nctcserver1\Documentation""
EnDIf
If InGroup("BackUpAdmin")
use U: "\\nctcserver1\BackUp$""
EnDIf
;Start of Printer Mapping
If InGroup ("Printer_HP7700_Garrison")
AddPrinterConnection ("\\nctcserver1\HP7700_Garrison")
EndIf
If InGroup ("Printer_HP7700_CG")
AddPrinterConnection ("\\nctcserver1\HP7700_CG")
EndIf
If InGroup ("Printer_Brother9840")
AddPrinterConnection ("\\nctcserver1\Brother9840_Garrison")
EndIf
If @userid = "charles.r.tornow" or @userid = "lawrence.c.hammer"
SetDefaultPrinter ("\\nctcserver1\HP7700_CG")
EndIf

Are your double quotes at the end of some of your statements supposed to be single quotes?

Thanks,

Joe B

Are you running AD?
Are all the computer accounts still there?
Are all user accounts still there?
Are the permissions on the folders still there?

I would ditch the script and create all the shares via a windows 7 machine GPO. Much easier to take care of.

If you still want to use a logon script take a look at Marks.

-This sounds great if you could walk me through it. I am in my office from 9am - 11pm Eastern. I would appreciate any and all assistance that you would give our non-profit.

You need to do a bit more reading if you going to manage your network.
Permissions just Right click the folder Properties Security Tab.

as for GPO you will need RSAT. Try google it may help.

But I take it that still no one can access the server?
Are the user accounts still there?

I still dont understand this [Only one of my Computers will allow users to log in and see their home folder. No other computer will.]

Does that mean DNS is not working DHCP not running and this machine is configured with static IP.

There is a lot of information we missing.

for example are the switches on so they have network connectivity.
