My customer's VM server is going out. They have an old 406 running 3.1.65 and VM Pro. She has a Win7 64 bit computer ready. Will this run, any problems?

Thanks.

4.2.23 was first to run win 7 64 bit for vmpro.
VMPro 4.2.34 to be exact.
The compatible list has more red Xes than green check marks.

If you have the original 406 then you cannot run 4.2.23

I am sure she enjoyed the last ten years but..
You are better off refreshing the system for the next five to ten years

It's a V2 406, actually, I just viewed her config offline. So I will most likely upgrade the software to 4.2 or to 5.0 and the VM pro.

Early 406v2 did not have as much memory, and couldn't be upgraded past R4.
Run monitor, if You have less than 16M free Memory, you will not be able to upgrade.
If You have 30M-59M free memory, then you can upgrade to R5 no problem.

Thank you.

Caution: If you have a USP Dongle, you may have a problem getting the key server installed. I just fought this issue. Good luck.

47 years in the business and counting.

There is a serial dongle, so I may have a problem.

Serial dongles are perfect, they connect directly to the 406, no issues at all :)

Awesome, thanks.

The Matrix for 4.2 didn't list Windows 7, but you specifically said 4.2.34 runs. Is that, and other operating systems, documented somewhere besides the Matrix?

VM Pro 4.2(34) is supported on Windows 7 Pro & Ultimate in BOTH 32 and 64 bit.
TB 111 dose confirm this on page 4.

Yes it does. I needed to dig deeper in those TB's
Thank you.

The matrix is good for part numbers and some other items but the real deal is the tbs.

Thanks for the star
Yes, the TB have been helpful, matrix is good for ordering codes, discontinued part numbers...
Avaya finally came out with the R9 matrix end of Jan, finally.

Amriddle01, thank you for the input.
I also have a customer with a similar issue, but he has a 403 running 2.1.73. He wants to migrate his vm server to something newer. Can I take the serial/printer dongle and attach directly to the 403?
