Windows 2K Printer Server Blue Screen Trap

Hey hey, here we go into Blue Screen territory again!

I've just had a 0x000000CE on a Win2k printer (50+) server that hasnt changed for over 4 months. I have had the error with a different description once before on the same server.

Could'nt get the text out of the event log, but I think it is DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATION - does anyone know how this can be caused?

There isnt much trace of this error on the web. Heres the full error from Compaq Insight XE:

Blue Screen Trap (NT BugCheck Data = STOP: 0x000000CE (0xF43E1477, 0x00000000, 0xF43E1477, 0x00000000) )

Anyone help?

boot from the win2k cd and select recovery and then recovery console
change to the following directory
%SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers
and then rename the Raspppoe.sys file to "Raspppoe.sy_"

if u have fat file systen then u can use the win98 bootable flopy to do this

Thanks SixthSense, I saw that fix on Technet.

I'm not sure which driver is causing the problems though, as the blue screen wasnt recorded properly I didnt get the drivername. According to MSDN its held in the KiBugCheckDriver parameter, which is little to no help to me!

I'll try the file re-name at the weekend on the downtime slot. I'll let you know!
