Windows 2008..?

Hi all,

I have rented a server with Win2003 Standard Edition.
Then server has 2 Intel Quad CPU = 8 processors and 16 GB ram.
I now understand that Win2003 only supports 4 GB and 4 CPU.

So what should I install instead? Win2008?
My intention is to run SQL-server2000 and Cognos PowerPlay on that server.

You could install Server 2003 Enterprise. That OS will support the 16 GB or RAM.

I'm not sure cognos supports 2008 yet. You need to double check with them about your version level and it's os compatability.
