I have Simpana 7.0 running on a Windows 2003 server Standard edition. I am bringing some 2008 servers on line and was wondering if I can use the Idata agent for 7.0 on these servers.

Yes, I am doing that currently haven't had any problems.

Just to add, we also have Simpana 7.0, and are happily backing up about a dozen windows Server 2008 boxes, both 32 and 64 bit. No known problems so far.

I have installed the Windows File Idata agent on both physical nodes of a windows 2008 cluster. Is there any other special procedures for doing clustered server backups?

Yes, you have to install the virtual file system agent. Run the setup installer again there should be an option for it iirc.

I had to purchase a license through Dell for this. Once I configure the VM client I should be all set.
