I am upgrading my database server to SQL 2000 running on Windows 2003 Standard edition. My web site runs on Windows 2000 using IIS 5.0. The ASP pages on the web server will not connect to the database.
I have an old server running the current production database on Windows 2000/SQL 2000 and it work just fine. The error I am receiving is
ASP Error [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]Access denied.
Occured at 7/28/2003 9:35:10 AM in Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
Error Number: -2147467259 (0x80004005)
File: /index.asp, line #13
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]Access denied.
The user name and password in SQL server are good.
On the web server (rscweb) I can connect to the database server (rscdb) by going "Start", "run", "\\rscdb".
I copied my web site over to a Windows XP Professional running IIS 5.1 and it works fine.
Do I need to install anything on the Windows 2000 (sp4) server to get it to connect to SQL server on Windows 2003?
