Hello,

We have a Windows 2003 Standard Server.

It came with 5 Window's Cal's. We bought 20 more Windows's Cal's.(This is not a Domain Controller. This is not a Terminal Server.).

Do you know where I can install the Licenses? Do I have to go into Control > Licenses, and switch to per device?

Thanks.

Do not worry about installing licenses. Just buy them and store them in a safe place just in case. The system will work fine without any licenses, you just have to make sure that you buy them. CAL's per device is for every machine that connect to the Server.

Bordetas: MCSA/MCSE Security (only on paper) ;-P

Boston33,

This depends specifically on what licensing scheme you have chosen.

If "per user" is what you are using then "Bordetas" is correct.

If you are set as "per device" then the server must be upgraded to allow more than the orig 5 connections.

If you have several servers, the "per user" mode is most often the most economical. You might want to see:

Hope this clears it up
