I can access pages fine by entering the local webserver IP on the lan. I have set up the router to port forward port 80 traffic to port 80 on the Webserver. When I enter the static ip Address for the router it comes up as a dns error but I have a program called liteserve running and it logs many incoming ip address hitting the webserver and disconnecting immediatly. I am new to this so any advice would be apprecaited

ADSL - Telecom New Zealand
Router - Dlink DSL-504
Software Windows 2003 Server

Sorry Error Above! I CANNOT access the webserver pages from the internet using the static external ip even thou when I am running liteserve it shows incoming traffic trying to connect. If I enter the internal IP address within the lan its fine

have you opened your router up to allow direction of your http packet request to the websites private IP?

i have requested the router forward all port 80 http traffic to the internal ip address of the webserver. is this what you mean?

Are you trying to access this machine /w the external ip with a machine on the same internal network.

If so Routers usually do not allow you to go out then come back in to access a web server. I usually PCanywhere to a machine on the outside world (my home machine) to atempt to confirm that my external ip works.

Was trying to access the server from the lan. When I tried from outside the lan it was fine. Thanks
