I am having a little trouble with Windows 2000. I can get it to connect to the server on a Domain for only a day. When I come in the next day it will not connect. I have to go to the server and delete the computer and then it will connect again. If I set it up in a workgroup it will connect to the server everytime. However, by doing this the users name for the server and the workstation act as seperate entities. So when one password changes the other one does not. So I would really like for it to connect on the domain. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.

If that doesn't lead anywhere, remove the computer from the domain, delete the account if it still exists, and reattach the workstation.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

What do I need to make sure is set on the domain account policy? I think it is correct but I am having problems.

I do remove it from the domand and then delete the account and then reconnect but when the next days comes it will not connect again.

What is it doing when you say it will not connect? Have you tried just rebooting instead of moving it to a workgroup? What happens when you do that?

What I am wondering is if you are just loosing connectivity. Check the APM properties of your NIC and make sure that it is NOT set to allow the OS to turn off the NIC.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Mark

I get error unable to connect to domain.

When I reboot I still receive that same message. The APM properties looks OK.

Do you have sufficient licensing ?

Per server # of concurrent connections permitted
Per seat licenses ....

At the command prompt do this

ipconfig /all

and check that the ip address is correct and that the Primary DNS server is the correct IP address for your primary domain controller ....
