hello all,
i have a windows 2000 tcp/ip peer to peer network (4 machines) w/ 2 HP jet direct connected printers. i've setup them up with 192.168... ips. everything is working fine. i need to connect an isdn to them. the isdn is connected throught another hub so i'll run a cable from my hub (via uplink port?) to that hub. the machines that are already connected to that hub are then connected to an nt4 server and then the isdn. the other machines have there network setup so as they obtain an ip automatically and use dhcp. my question is this. how do i configure my machines to work with isdn and still have my peer to peer work. do i need to obtain ip's automatically (as the other machines are) and what will happen to my peer to peer when there are no assigned ip's. or is there another setting? all i want is access to the isdn bandwidth. i don't care about the other network or server.
thanks,
bill eakins

no all you need to get to the isdn is the gateway address. the isdn link needs a a gateway all you do is add this to your tcp/ip settings it should not effect your ptp network at all.

P.S. this idea is a normal setup of course it does not hold ture to ever network. post if it does not hold true for you and tell why(NT is a porxy or something like that.) So long and thanks for all the fish.

thanks for the tip.
the nt 4 box where the isdn router is connected has an ip.
do i put this ip in the gateway box of all my machines?
thanks,
bill

yes just add it to the the gateway box for all of them and thats it. So long and thanks for all the fish.
