Any feedback (good/bad) on this latest patch would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Installed it on about 50+ machines, all seem to be running good...

After the installation all seems to be normal except the speed test for hd at Easycd Creator 5.01 which is a little bit slower

All seems ok so far, are you aware of the Outlook security update componant, will not allow .exe .vbs etc attachments to be received and cannot be reversed.

Check that outlook thing again. I believe the security update blocks .exe and other "harmfull" attachments. But, if you use Exchange server, the settings can be adjusted to allow .exe. If you do not use Exchange server, then you're SOL.

The info can be found on the microsoft knowledge database. The link is long so it may not work right, but here's a shot.

since installing SP2 on my system (connecting to novell network with novell client) I have noticed a big time slow down....I am not sure what it is yet...I uninstalled SP2 and the system speeds back up....My next step will be to upgrade the novel client and see if that solves the problem...it must be a novell and microsoft thing...

Isn't it something how large service packs are becoming . . . remember back in the day, a typical service pack was like 12Kb, than moved up to the 3Mb and so forth.

Makes you wonder "How much" was fixed and patched, that took 100+ Mbs -- And, how much they actually tell us about.

As far as the Novell Client goes, I personally have been running the 4.7 and when I did switch to the latest 4.8x I seen multiple issues (speed being the number one impact). So I switched back. However, I did notice each of my drives that were mapped directly to a specfic folder were at least twice as quick to load, vs drives mapped to the root.

I believe the main issues that I have heard about in other forums as well are in regards to the Novell 4.8 client. I have heard little rumors that Novell will be releasing a
new client soon, as it has been over six months since 4.8 came out.

Thanks to all for the info, keep it coming.
