Hi, I have recently created a windows 2000 server. I have 2 problems:

1. I have no group policy editor (gpedit.msc) in system32 directory. How do I install?

2. It takes forever for users to login to the domain. It says applying setting for about 2 min. then it brings them to the desktop. Anyway to speed it up. Thanks

You do not have to install Group policy, it is in AD users and computers.
Right click on the Domain Or an OU you have created, click properties, then group policy. From there you then create the policy you want.

the second problem sounds like it could be down to IP addressing.

Another way is create (gpedit.msc)

Perform following
Start--> Run --> MMC --> This will popup the windows for Microsoft managemeny console. then from console menu select Add/Remove snap in then click on "add" option from Add/Remove snap in menu . this will open all snap-ins then select Group Policy. then save as (gpedit.msc) in system32 folder.

Hope ths helps Aslam
