After a clean boot, fresh instillation, I recieve the following ERROR: unable to load operating system.

Windows 2000 Professional Instillation - ERROR

Is your system Dual boot?
Do you have two hard drives in your PC? If so check that the drive you put Win2k on is the Active (boot) drive.
Or
Boot off the Win2k CD and take the R option (repair) from the first menu. When you get to the Rescue Console use the FIXBOOT command to repair the boot sector.

is it a fresh hard drive?
make shure it doesnot have ez bios or some other sort of boot protection on it.
