I have windows 2000 pro on my computer our former IT guy lost the startup CD's how do I get it to update online without the original CD's?

Are you talking about Windows Update? I've been running W2k Pro for a couple years and have never needed the CD's to do a Windows Update.

all the updates for outlook, powerpoint etc you need the CD for that according to the MS prompt. Because this is a oem software and I don't know where they bought them I can't figure out how to do this without buying new software which I don't really need. I'm just trying to keep current what I have on the computer

Well certainly doesn't help much since all the CDs are probably lost but it is looking for the Office CDs not the W2K Pro CDs. Actually its looking for the install point. If the CDs were copied to a share or something, pointing to that would work.
