Sorry, in this case you need realy a CD Drive.

1.)you must have friend with Laplink PC.
2.)Make a Boot Floppy Disk for your Laptop.
3.)Format/s your HD.
4.)Boot from DOS Boot Floppy Disk.
5.)Insert the Flopy Disk with Laplink driver.
6.)Make a Connection with the Host (your friends PC)
7.)Insert Win2k CD in the Host CD Drive
8.)Transfer i386 Directory to your HD, or complet CD
9.)Boot again from DOS Floppy Disk.
10. cd i386 and setup with: winnt.exe

Hope that use.

That is to say I lost every thing on my HD?

No, if you have abour 386MB free an your HD.

When you data have a big value.

1.) when your partition ist NTFS5 then is a little problem here, because a DOS Floppy Boot Disk will not see your partition. For this you must make a little improvisation.

With PowerQuest Partition Magic 5.0, you must resize your NTFS Partition to make a free 400MB in front to the HD.

Exemple: HD 4 GB

The Primary partition,2GB, must be resize to 1,5 GB. 500MB must be in front.

500 FAT/FAT32 (label Ghost) make a primary partition
1500 NTFS (HIDEN)
0,0

Active partition: GHOST
Now PM5 will be format this partition but will be not boot.
Make it boot-able with a DOS Floppy Boot Disk.
sys c:

Again boot from the Laplink DOS Boot Floppy Disk.
Transfer Win2k CD on GHOST.

Install Win2k on the 1500MB NTFS5 partition in WINNT Directory. (new install)

Then make the Win2k partition boot-able with PM5 as active primary partition.
When Win2k run, you can delete the 500MB partition with PM5 and resize back to 2GB.
That is all. :)-/)

Is to hard ? Is not easyer to buy a CD Drive ?

Your choose !

Then copy the CD on a directory exemple "win2k". But you must a new OS install that delete a bed OS. Your private Data will be so not deleted.

Hi talbengal,

When booting as you would normally do, was it possible to get to the screen where it said, "Press SpaceBar to invoke the Last Know Good Configuration" or something like that. If it is possible, then give that a try, this will return you to the original configuration before the driver was installed. If not, what was suggested above would have to be done, to copy the installation files (i386 folder) into the system to start installation from there.
