Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to run a stand alone windows 2000 server that is not connected to the internet (for mobile development) I want to be able to access my web site and servers (mail and sql) by looping back an ip address (127 type ip) but, I don't want to be connected to the internet to do so. So far I can loop back fine connected to the internet but once I disconnect, my loopback address doesn't work. Am I stupid or is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance,
Stefan

Try using "localhost" as the address and see if that works.

assign your nic a static ip of 192.168.1.x. then in your address bar or whatever just type that address. the 127.0.0.x is really for network troubleshooting, not trying to view webpages, etc. but if you ran a linux web server it would work using localhost.
