Windows 2000 log in

I bought a computer off of ebay and I dont know the password to log in to windows. The seller hasnt responded. How can I get into Windows, I dont care about any files, because I am going to load WIndows XP anyway.

Well you could try username: administrator and then just leave password blank, or you can boot with the Windows XP cd and then install on top 2000. Just delete the partition that has win2000 or reformat once you boot from the Windows XP cd.

To let you be more at ease (if there is such a thing), I agree with cohortq. I have W2KPro, essentially the same when it comes to log on. Personnally, I would crack the box(if there is an NIC), and find out what all the drivers and hardware require and write it down. Then fresh install. Then you KNOW you have your own stuff, ya know?
Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done. I don't know how it's done; all I can tell ya is that it was done to me. I had SP3 and a 17 character password including CAPS,#'s and symbols. They got in and stripped me of administrative access, and access to almost everything--even UT and AOE2!!!! Anyway, that was before I got the router, that is another story...
