Windows 2000 domain transfer problem.

I have a windows 2000 domain and I have just added VMware Vsphere to the environment with guess server running windows 2008.
I am migrating to the domain to windows 2008 ,however I have ran into a strange problem.

I was successful in running adrep /forestprep and domainprep with no issue and got the 2008 machine to join the domain as a domain controller,but after completing these tasks and the 2008 server reboots the window 2000 domain controler give a blue screen.At present once the the 2008 server is on the 2000 server bluescreen and reboots.

Check the prerequisites. If I'm not mistaken, the operational level of the domain must be atleast 2003 or higher to add a 2008 svr as a DC. A W2k DC doesn't support this level.
