We are running a small Windows 2000 network with a Win2K server acting as our internet gateway via an "Alcatel Speed Touch" ADSL router. Works fine until no-one uses the internet for a while - we then have to kick the Win2K server browser into life by browsing a new page. Once we do this all the client pcs are fine again until everyone stops browsing. Any ideas???

"Alcatel Speed Touch" ADSL router?
You meant DSL modem, right?

Which protocol r u using on Win2k, NAT or ICS?
I recommend u to use NAT instead of ICS, which will be more stable.

We use ADSL in NZ - Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line.

We are currently using NAT.

muzza30,

Configure the router to enable the "keep alive". That should resolve the situation and give you an "always on" connection.

Hope that helps.
