I am having trouble with about 6 or 7 Windows 2000 users running Netware client Ver 4.81

I am getting an 8884 error on the login script. I applied the patch that is recommended by Novell (TID 10065577) to fix this problem however, I am still getting the same messages. Has anyone run into this problem and if so, any suggestions?

Isn't 4.82 just for Windows XP?

says the 4.82 client is just for XP. Does that mean it is only supported for XP? -----------------------------------------------------

Yes, 4.82 is only for XP. There are 3 patches for the 4.81 client and I have applied all of them.

Oops! Sorry about that. My excuse is that I've been testing XP and it's been a long day.
All I can suggest is uninstalling the client, cleaning out any remnants from the registry and reinstalling,
John

On what line of the login script are you getting this error?

has anyone figured this out, cos I have the same problem. I get the error message:

UTSTHLSTGRGE (servername)
LOGIN- 4.21.15-890: The Specified Server is unknown.
LOGIN- 4.21.15-430: The following drive mapping operation could not be completed-

The Error Code was 8884

I too have applied the patch but without any luck. I'm running a machine that was upgraded from netware 4.11 to 5.1

You could always try the new Novel Client 4.83 from ? -----------------------------------------------------

Have you run a DSREPAIR lately? If not you may want to run it on all Servers that hold a copy of the Replica.

Good Luck.

It would be helpful to know exactly what is causing the error in your login script. Guesses are a certin drive mapping. Try the DSREPAIR as already suggested, also run a DSREPAIR / Advanced Settings / Check Volume Objects and Trustees and see what you get.
