I laughed. They MAY want to digest our data.

But, seriously, the OP will have the last laugh if someone can analyze the data that is being sent. Until then, it's kind of a black box, which does tend to look suspicious. If it can be unlocked, we can actually understand the degree to which we should be concerned.

I do agree that you should be able to turn off the tattling spigot EASILY and COMPLETELY and not have to try to do it by uninstalling Windows updates or toggling a ton of option switches within windows.
