Windows 10 Adoption closing in on Windows XP 1

I'm not using XP and I tell anyone that I see using it to stop. But, I haven't seen XP at a customer except for one. I wasn't talking about those big breaches. I was talking about average Joe users at home. Meaning that you might be safer using XP than you might think, but still not recommended!!!

>Example: Home Depot, Target breaches exploited Windows XP flaw, report says.

Ironically, the particular product affected was (and is) still under support.

a resurgent Windows XP, up from 10.59 per cent to 10.93 per cent.
.4% is HARDLY resurgent, but still WHAT THE HECK?? Why would XP go up!!!!?? Probably just how it got measured. The other poll shows a tiny decrease for XP.

None of it matters anyway. Over time people run out of options and have no choice but to move to Windows 10. Might be a case of "get it while it's hot" though.

Low adoption rates don't encourage developers to take it into consideration, much as with Windows Phone though not quite as severe. This will probably change given enough time.

But share growth doesn't appear to be driven from the "enterprise" corner of the desktop OS market. If enough home users feel victimized by the direction Windows is taking perhaps they'll move to Mac, ChromeOS, or even Jide's Remix OS if OEMs were ever to take that up. After all, when Windows Mobile went to hell everyone bailed on Microsoft for non-Microsoft phones and tablets. The desktop could well be next, people just need more mainstream alternatives.

If that happened businesses could find themselves ending up as "The Cheese" who "Stands Alone" with only a dwindling niche Windows 10 desktop OS to turn to.

If you look at five difference surveys, you're going to see five different results. So it's kind of a waste of time to be suspicious about this or that O.S. percentage regardless of the survey used.

I figure offering free upgrades from versions 7 & 8 helped Win 10 too. "
That and the incessant nagging from the upgrade 'update' they saw fit to install.
