i have window xp. yesterday i took out the memory and place it back. Now when i turned on my computer it would not go on. The computer running but all i see is a black screen with no display not even bios setup. i just bought a new memory i place it back but it still not working. So what wrong with my computer?

window not booting up HELP!

Memory stick(s) not seated correctly?
Add-on (PCI etc) cards not seated correctly?
Other connection (IDE/SATA/Power) not seated correctly.
Check RAM/cards/connections are secure.
No RAM or faulty RAM should generate BIOS beeps on power up. Do you get beeps?
Worse case scenario is that you have now got static damage to all the RAM sticks and possibly the motherboard. You should always remove mains power by switching off at the mains socket or removing the power cord when servicing a PC - turning the PC off via the front button is not enough as on a modern PC the Mobo is still receiving some power. So, if that's what you did, then there is a good chance you blew the RAM - &/or the motherboard.
If you get BIOS beeps with no RAM then that points to faulty RAM and the mobo possibly being OK. If no beeps and the CPU fan doesn't start then that points to a faulty mobo. But without diagnostic kit - that is only an indicator - not conclusive.

These recent posts might give you a few things to consider. It sounds like you may have dislodged some vital connection, or I am sorry to say, you may have damaged vital hardware.

To be honest we can only speculate I hope for the best for you. It may come down to expert help via a repair shop.
Why did you remove the RAM in the first place? If your old configuration was working better than the current one, can you revert to that and see if that rectifies or improves your current situation? I was just wondering if you may have selected a RAM not suitable to your Motherboard?
