Running a Win2k Adv Server SP3 network with a NT PDC.

Some Win98se clients keep losing network printers, both from the server and other pcs (some of which are 98se clients also).

I have setup two of the users with Win2k clients and they have no issues....any idea why this is happening??

Thanks

possible solution 1:
How long is the share name you use?
Are there any names longer then 8 characters?
If so, you can try shorter sharenames.

possible solution 2:
A friend of mine had a problem like this, and he solved it by using the printserver's IP instead of the NetBios name.

possible solution 3:
Create a logon script (e.g. Kixtart) that reconnects to the printer at logon:

; ---- start of script ------
; Delete all printerconnections
DelTree("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Connections")

; Resubmit the Connections key
AddKey("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Connections")

; Add a new Windows Mapping
AddPrinterConnection("\\server\printer")

; DOS Mapping
USE "LPT1:" "\\server\printer"
; ---- end of script ------
