I have a laptop that I use at work to connect to an NT4
Domain. On bootup I get the login box, I enter username
password and DOMAIN is set, and I get in OK.
When I take the laptop home and try to use it I get the
same logon box but if i put in correct password or press
cancel it still tries to find the domain. I cannot get to
use my laptop off the network.
I seem to remember reading an article on Policies that
covered this but cannot find the right info anywhere.

Can anyone help?

Set up a hardware profile for HOME and "disable" the network card "in this profile ". You can find it in Profiles and/or Control panel/systems/device manager/network devices/properties

Yes, in addition to disabling the network card, do the following:

- right-click network neighborhood and click properties
- make sure primary network logon says "windows logon"

* just be sure that you created a new hardware profile (and rebooted into it) before disabling your network card and making this change
