I hope somebody out there can help me on this. I have a PC which has had it's C: drive formatted. I have a bootable win 95 floppy, with CD drivers on it, which I boot the machine with. This works fine, I then place the Win95 CD in the drive and type C:\setup from the A: drive. Setup runs, copies over the first set of files, asks if you wish to continue and then provides the licence agreement screen. Every time after agreeing to this the PC gives a blip noise and hangs (showing the WIn95 load screen but with a black box in the middle as if it was supposed to be displaying something). Could anyone please shed any light on what maybe causiing this? Many thanks in anticipation.

Do you have a copy of a Win 98 boot disk? It has better versions of compatible drivers than the 95 disks did. I don't think this is your problem, but it might help a little. MCSE, A+

I have seen an error similar to this. Please try diabling on board virus checking on your motherboard. I believe there is a post on microsoft about this exact problem.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll give them a try later on.
Cheers.

CZAstro, absolutely spot on my friend. Disabled the Virus check and the damned thing sailed though. Many thanks indeed for this!
