Hi,

I'm not an experienced Perl programmer, and have been tasked with creating a Windows Service which checks disk space on a server and sends out an email if space is low. I've had no problems creating the perl script, but I cannot get my head around setting up the Windows Service.

I have installed Win32::Daemon and have run the "Oh my god, Perl is a service!" example. The documantation here doesn't make much sense to me:

Can someone out there please help my out with a simple explaination, or maybe provide a link to pertinetn documentation and examples?

Many thanks,

Chris

You used to be able to use instsrv.exe to create services on windows. Not sure if it still works or not.
