Win2K3 login username and password "greyed out" 1

If I leave my server overnight at the login screen, when I come in, in the morning the username and password are greyed out?!?! I've have a fresh copy of Win2K3 Standard, it runs, Ghost2003, VNC Client, Norton VP, Sharepoint 2.0 and IIS6.0. Any ideas?

I've ran all Windows Critical Updates also.

Are you by any chance running VNC?

If so, remove it.

Yes, VNC 1.8. I was wondering if it could be the problem. Have you had the same trouble??

No, I dont run VNC. There is no need for it, especially on Server 2003. You can connect to the console session using RDP (mstsc /console /v:servername).

RDP is also faster and more secure.

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot. VNC is uninstalled, I'll know if it worked when I come in tomorrow. It seems to take overnight for the problem to occur.

That did the trick! VNC 1.8 is gone, no more problems.
