When I am accessing a network share that is on a WIN XP workstation the transfer rate is around 128 k. On the 2000 machine it transfers at around 3 to 5 MB pers second. Any ideas? I assuming it is a limitation on the XP machine, but do not really know where to look as far as networking with a MAC.

I've noticed this as well. I learned that if I create a share on the Mac and access that share from the XP box, my transfer rates to the Mac from the XP machine are much higher than the transfer rates to the XP machine from the Mac. It's exactly the opposite on a Mac. So it seems that "pushing" files to a share are much quicker than "pulling" files from a share. At least between XP and OS X. I hope this makes sense.
