wich is a pain since I cant go to windows update or use "add/remove program" anymore. I tried to reinstal ie6 but each time I get digital signature not found ,and when it reboot the windows update apears and try to reinstal ie again wich end up doing the same thing it did before. Any idea how to get those to work again ?

Hello,

Couldn't you , please, describe the situation more precisely. How did you get this problem? What did you do before the problem appears?

After installing win2k service pack 3 it asked for my win2k cd wich I couldnt find at the time so I had to cancel that part of sp3 installation . Could be either that or sp3 by itself that caused the problem. Uninstalling sp3 could be the solution but I can't find how to without add/remove program.

Actually in normal situation SP3 do not require W2k installation CD. So, possible SP3 is a little strange.
Futhermore it is better to install SP3 from the Local HDD.

I have started having problems since installed sp3 too. If I simply run Norton 2000 it will crash in the middle of the virus scan, that is only one of my issues now. I have tried to use various software to scan the registry and find errors... crash. I have tried to uninstall things like you, and the system will crash in the middle of an uninstall. Games are crashing the system. Once it told me that some file called fnFileLen was corrupted and windows did not know what to do with it. It took me awhile to find that since a search was useless. Come to find out that fnFileLen was a part of internet explorer and there was like ten different ones. I deleted those out. I am still suspicious of SP3. Has anyone seen anything about this problem on the news or anything. Josiah

burksjosiah,

it is a really strange situation. I never hear about such one. Please, examine event logs for error and mail with event id's.
