Win2K Professional Local Policies

I have a few stand alone Win2k professional PC's installed at a school.

I want to use the local security policy to "lock down" the operating system from meddling fingers.

How can I do this use without the policy affetcing the local administrator account?

Have you tried to apply the local group policy to the pcs. I cant find anywhere where you would pick a group for the GP to affect (in a domain you would), but I think it will not affect the admin account.
