Hi

I have perfected installing Windows 2K using the unattended method. I created the WINNT.SIF answer file and put it in the i386 directory on the Win2K CD. On the CD I have also created an \i386\$OEM$ and \i386\$OEM$\$1 directory and also put a CMDLINES.TXT file in \i386.

All this is on a bootable CD. When I boot from it, Windows 2k installs itself but it totally ignores all the other files I want to install in the $OEM$ directory.

I am getting really frustrated, can anyone help?

Thanks

Phil

And your NetWare version is????? -----------------------------------------------------

It's NW 5.1 but it doesn't really have any bearing on what I'm trying to achieve............... or at least I didnt think it did!

Not being funny but this is the NetWare 5.1 forum .....

Have you tried posting in the W2k Professional or Server forums instead? -----------------------------------------------------

I know its the NW5.1 forum, and I use NW5.1. I'm sure there are other people who have tried to install the Netware Client using unattended installation which is why I tried here as well as the Win2K forum.

Sorry for the confusion, I should learn to read!

Doesn't the CMDLINES.TXT file have to go under your $OEM$ directory instead of under I386? -----------------------------------------------------

Lol, if you should learn to read then I should learn to type!

I meant to say that the CMDLINES.TXT is in the $OEM$ directory, but I'm having no luck getting it to work.

When the PC reboots and goes in to Windows there are no other files on there, the Novell Client files that are located in the $OEM$\$1 directory do not get copied across, very frustrating indeed!
