Hi! I want to the install Win2K to my laptop (it has Win98 now), but my laptop doesn't have a CD ROM. So, if I want to install Win2K via my home lan network (using other PC's CD ROM), is it possible? What are the procedures? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
If your laptop has a 2nd partition you can copy the files there. If you want to format and do a clean install of 2k. If you have an upgrade you can try that but when I did my upgrade gave me all types of problems I finally formatted and loaded clean. you can format the c partition and run the install from the d:. No matter how you do it you need to copy the files to the hard drive to run the setup.
How do I recover files that I accidentally deleted after I installed win2000 over win98. I didnot format my harddrive during installation. I accidentally deleted some outlook express files. It is not in the Recycle Bin anymore. Any recovery software I can used? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
for me it was worth the money invested. I have done some work with police forensics and hard drives. Just a faq with the new technologies used today you can recover files from a hard drive that has been formatted 3 or more times. I found that hard to believe but it is true.
yeah up to 5 times. Software usually costs fr more than is justifiable to recover an inbox with a few e-mails tho
