Win2k from MSDN subscription

Hi everyone ... Running Win2k professional that I installed from my MSDN subscription. They are slightly different from standard installations. Been having trouble with System File checker not wanting to accept the CD, error saying &quot;not original CD&quot;. Tried what MS suggests in the knowledge base, but that did not work! Now for the big problem, when booting that PC today, I get the following message&quot; Win 2k cannot start. The following file is missing or corrupt <Windows 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe&quot; Please reinstall a copy of the above file!
Question is ... HOW ?
Also, that PC has a virus that I am hoping to get rid of, but I do NOT want to re-format. It would be the 3rd Harddrive I have had to do it to this week!
Suggestions?

I know that the NT versions on MSDN were different, but I was under the impression that there was no differences between the MSDN and originals besides maybe different codes. I could be wrong, I was &quot;told&quot; this. I've never seen any differences yet personnally.. but that doesn't mean there isn't.

If you've upgraded with service packs, it may be looking for the same version of the file. You might need to unpack your latest installed service pack and use the file needed in there (if it's there and if that's the problem.)

The only difference that I know of, is that the MSDN subscription version does not autorun, and the actual Windows files are within a folder called I386. To install the OS you have to run a utility from the CD that is in a folder named MAKEBOOT, it copies all the installation files onto 4 floppies, which you boot from. then you use the CD.
Since the OS will not boot right now, i really need to know how to replace that damaged system file from a DOS prompt (I think).
