I'm Running SCO Openserver Release = 3.2v5.0.5
On it I'm running SCO VisionFS 2.01.905 (Fully licensed)
I just encountered a problem with Win XP Pro & Vision FS.
Visionfs is setup with 'donald' as the administrator.
On my prior Win 98 machine, my windows logon was 'donald' & everything worked great.
I'm using unencrypted passwords, so in Win XP I went to
'Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy', Then in this program I went to 'Local Policies > Security Options > Microsoft Network Client: Send unencrypted password to third-party SMB servers'. I changed this to 'enabled'
When I go through 'My network places' to the UNIX Server, it asks me for a logon. I can either use 'root' or 'donald' along with the root password.
I was then able to access shares on the UNIX server. Even the ones that only an administrator should see.
The only remaining problem is. When I open the profile editor (profedit.exe), it pops up with the visionfs splash logo then it pops up an error box.
***************
Can't open the VisionFS profile.
You must be logged in as a VisionFS Administrator
for donnan to run the Profile Editor.
On UNIX as root, run "visionfs status" to find out
which users are VisionFS Administrators.
***************
The machine name is 'donnan'.
I have checked the status. Here are a couple of lines from the response:
***************
VisionFS Administrators: donald
DONALD, donald(admin) , no files open: \\DONNAN\VISIONTOOLS
*************************
Does anyone have any ideas on how to overcome this issue. It appears that VisionFS is seeing me as the machine 'donald' and the user 'donald'
All other priveledged shares seem to be accessible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Donald
