Has anyone run into a situation where you tried to install a MS SQL 6.0 Application on a WIN XP Pro machine? We are trying to access an ancient MS SQL 6.0 database and so far no luck. We have tried modifying PATHs when it could not find needed DLL's and running in WIN 98 compatibility mode. Now launching the App. opens a login window then after clicking OK with the correct login info it simply "goes away." There are no errors on screen or in event log. And, there are no running entries in the Task Manager. Any info and assist is greatly appreciated!

How are you connecting to the database? Client for Microsoft SQL Server? ODBC? Check configurations of those. Marc Creviere

We have tracked the problem down. The programmer that was testing the DB did not have full e permissions on the XP box. We have to remember that XP is NT kernel-based so NTFS permissions are in full effect. Gave her full permissions on the XP and everything came up. NO PROBLEM!!!

Thanks for the Help & I hope I can do the same for someone else.
