Just installed Win XP Pro and everything works great except my HP9300i CD writer. Windows recognizes it but only as a CD-ROM. Downloaded the HP software for backups from HP's site except this doesn't allow me to do backups the way I'm used to. I usually create directories and subdirectories on my CD-RW and use it like just another drive. HP says they don't support 'direct letter access' ie. calling it the E: drive for purposes of writing to with XP. Also, HP's new software won't allow me to backup across a small network (a hard drive on another computer is mapped as my G: drive and this won't backup). Help??
