I'm trying to get two of my PC's to connect to each other over IPX, i am trying to get a game to work on a network and since it is an older one the only network support it has is IPX, i am using the defualt windows server and am trying to use the Novel IPX to connect them

Just a couple of pointers, make sure you have Microsoft Client for Netware Networks installed - check to see that both computers are using the same encapsulation type, Network card properties.

If the network already exists and has IPX running on it, you need to use the same number that's already on it; contact whoever assigns IPX network numbers in your organization, because you can cause connectivity problems if you just invent something that clashes with the existing scheme.

If this is the first IPX device on the (only)network, make something up. It needs to be a hexadecimal number of 8 or fewer digits. BEEFBABE, ADEADC0D, 1, C0FFEE, and 90210 are all perfectly valid IPX network numbers, for example. All workstations will require the same number.

What number should i set "Internal Network number" or "Network number" currently i can't set Network number because i have my frametype set to auto, the driver is the defualt one that comes with XP or win98, should i get a diffrent third party one, and if so which one? BTW, this is a home network and i have full control over it.
