There is a closed thread that indicates a few people have loaded SPM on a Windows 7 machine. I am trying to do the same and getting OLE/registry errors. I am also trying to do this via the support.avaya site going thru version by version since I am using a netbook w/ no CD drive. Any suggestions as to what is going wrong/what I should be doing differently? Thanks!

Yes. I used the combination of simply copy and pate the entire Avaya/Lucent solutions directory to my desktop, set winspm.exe to run in xp sp3 compatablity mode and installed spm 4 to install the dlls.

After that I simply ran winspm in the copied spm 9 directory. I still have spm4 on the drive but it is not needed.

It's people like you who generalize.

Excellent - I will have to try it. Why didn't you just load win spm over again?

Well I have site data that goes back a decade and I also have project folders for the application I wrote to crunch the database structures. So it is easier to simply copy and paste the entire folder structure.
