Can anyone tell me how to kick off a batch file on a windows pc to use ftp to get a file from a Unix (AIX) box?

1.) Kill the ftpd process on AIX - you have to guess which if more than one.
2.) Edit the /etc/ftpaccess.ctl - restrict the PC to access your server.
3.) Go to a PC or MS Win forum.

Use the task scheduler. Do you need a sample batch file?

Thanks, I got the batch file to work if I run it from the command propt, but when I put it in the task scheduler it never runs... Using windows XP

Sorry for the misunderstanding of the "kick off". I understood it as "disable" or "stop the process". What I wrote is how to disable the PC to access the server.

MS scheduler is a bit tricky I found, you will need to play around with the settings.
Something which caught me out was setting the time to run, this had to be 24 hours.
