Hi, I'm currently using NT and happy with how it's working. That's why I'm a little hesitant to upgrade to Win 2000 Server since it was just released. I'm waiting for version 2 come out after all the bugs have been worked out, but I also don't want to be too behind on the times.

Is it worth while to upgrade to Win 2000 Server now or will I be safer staying with NT until version 2 comes out? Does anyone have some experiences that might help me out? Thanks in advanced for any recommendations.

I think the most important thing to ask yourself when planning to deploy 2000 is simply....What are my servers doing now? What applications are running on the server.

Accounting software? SQL? ARCSERVE!!
Its very important to GET READY and sit down and think about all of it.

The one thing your going to have to take into cosideration is the fact that almost none of the apps that ran on NT4 are going to run on 5. Which leaves you with a couple of days to gather, download and install all the new upgrades.

Take it from someone who is living it.

My best advice is put it all on paper first.

I would think that unless you actually have a reason to upgrade. Don't.
If your system is working now, why fix it.
Before long you will have to reinvest in hardware and software, why not do it then and benefit from other's experience and a more refined OS?
Mean while plan for it.
Pritch.
