Hi everyone,

The MD wants to get a palmtop PC (doesn't want to lug around a laptop) which would enable him to:

Connect to the Exchange server to send/receive e-mail.
Be able to compose/read e-mail when off-line
View the office diary, or a copy of the office diary, to enable him to see what appointments are on any particular day and make appts

I realise there will be limitations, but can you advise whether some or all of the above features are feasible, and if so, what types of palmtop would be compatible.

Regards,
Jay/UK

We have HP Journada palmtops that we use to send and receive mail. The Journada has a modem that dials to the Exchange server, then a program on the Server called "Mail on the Run", sends and retrieves their e-mail to the palm. We really like it and it's easier than lugging the laptop around. Mail on the run is made by RiverRun The contacts and appointments can be synchronized to the user's desktop when they are back at work.
