After a Windows 98 se re-installation...

After windows boots up and startuo items are loaded, a window pops up with a label of "Microsoft Interactive CD Sampler" with amessage reading "Please insert the Windows 98 CD". If the CANCEL button is pressed things continue as normal. If the CD is inserted an error message Component: FXIMG432.OCX not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid.

This is a "Boot UP PAIN !"... How can this window be removed so this activity doesn't happen at boot up ?

OCX is part of ActiveXs OBE ObjectLinking and Embeding so I would guess that it is in the start program. Try going to Start>Run type in msconfig>ok then click the start tab and uncheck everything except system tray and reboot if it's gone go back to start and check you're anti virus program and any other that needs to be at start and you should be good to go.. jackha

You don't need to uncheck everything in msconfig. Look for something called IMGSTART.EXE in msconfig's startup tab and uncheck it then ok out and restart. I believe that'll get rid of the message.
