Is it possible to synchronise the Win 98 password with the NT domain password? At the moment when a user changes their NT password the profile on the local machine keeps their old windows password. Is there a way of doing this without giving the user access to the control panel?

Thanks

Do you use profiles in Windows 98? If not, the local password isn't really doing anything for you but causing problems. Why not disable the local passords?

Yes, i am using mandatory profiles, and the users are moving between machines. Can you turn passswords off when using profiles?
The users do not have access to the control panel or to the c: drive (well, only through office applications, but that's another question...) and so cannot change their password that way.

search the client for files with the extention pwl, this files contain the users passwd. If you delete these files, all win 98 passwds will be gone. The next time you logon, you don't enter a win98 passwd anymore and afterwards, he will not ask for passwords again.
