I had win Xp on this pc which is giving me a lot of problems.
I would like to change back to 98 .
I made several a start up disks but none will work. The error message says disk error.
What can I do. I am a novice.

Thank you Kurt

Please post more info on your PC, hardware, disksize ....

Disclaimer: The following information should only be followed if you are confident working with your system's BIOS.

When you system boots up, look for a message saying something like. "Press ESC to enter setup"

Once in setup, look for an entry called boot options.

This should display the order in which your system checks drives. Change the setting to boot from 3.5 floppy, then CD-ROM then Hard drive. Save and exit BIOS, then reboot with your boot disk in the floppy drive. This will let you boot from the boot disk, or boot from the CD-ROM with your Win98 cd in it, before it gets to the hard drive.
