Win 98 freezes at splash screen after installing pci scsi card.

When I physically insert my Adaptec 2940U card into a PCI slot Windows 98 freezes at the splash screen. When I remove the card it boots normally. It is sharing an IRQ, but I thought this was OK. Also I tried switching IRQ's around and that didn't help. Under the SCSI configuration it has the default ID of 7. Would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks

Adaptec's website may have an updated driver for your card or an update for Windows. As for IRQ sharing, it kinda depends on what your card is sharing with? Always try to give a card it's own IRQ if possible.
