These are just "my" thoughts....and should be carefully measured against other opinions....I try very hard to impart correct info at all times.

And look at this Gold Mine in case that last one wasn't specific enough.....

In you're original Post, there's no VXD name mentioned in
An exception 0D has occurred at 0028:000FD2FA in Vxd
so it's that much tougher to tell....

Also sci1hlp(03)
should be scsi1hlp(03)

You are correct TT4U I just tried again and the error msg
changed to

An exeption at 0E has occurred at 0028:611CF0c1 in Vxd ---
This was called from 0028:C1828398

and I made a mistake it should also read scsi1hlp for the original error

My machine is a 3 year old clone with Win 98Se pentium 600mgz cd and cd burner 256k Ram 27 Gig H/D

Way Cool...

Was it the scsi1hlp.vxd.....?
or the idecdvsd.vxd...?

You know...I was hoping you'd track it down through some links without getting into whether or not you were using an ScSi Drive and all that....:>)

I bet you have a command line in Config.sys or Autoexec.bat referring to the loading of this file....or even a startup file....
Either way the problem is resolved cause Windoze can't find it since you've renamed it probably..[bigsmile]
