I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a driver for the DI-30 under Win98. I checked the hastec.nl site and all I can find on there is drivers for NT and 2000. I tried using those, but they won't work for me. Thanks.
The drive comes with Echo software which installs its own driver. The version on the Hastec web-site will run on Windows 98 or Windows xp. If you install this, I believe you should be able to use the drive without any problems.
Failing that, there will be a general windows driver somewhere on the Echo installation disk. I did look for you but could not readily find it as they are called "sc2k" or similar but they may well work for W98.
Thanks for the post, but, unfortunately, I don't have the disk. I got the drive on ebay, and they gave me the link to the hastec.nl site and said the drivers on there should be fine. I've tried both the 2000 and NT drivers, but neither work. When I point windows to the driver, it says that it can't find the correct driver for the device. Consequently, when I try to do a backup, a window pops up and asks me to "Please select the device to use as your primary backup destination, but, where there should be a list of devices to choose from, there's nothing listed. Any idea where I might be able to get a copy of the disk that comes with the drive?
Do you still need the driver? I have the original CD from OnStream Echo Version 2.0a (old version) and a downloaded copy of Echo 3.6.24. They both work on Windows 98.
