This should be easy. Key words are Should Be lol

Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit OS

Using the Windows Task Scheduler I would like to have a task open a website and log me in.

The task opens the website just fine. However, I can't get it to log me in with my username and password.

Windows Task Scheduler does not have an option to pass the username and password to the website. Is this even possible?

Using tek-tips for an example:
BillyBob (UserID)
Abcd123 (Password)

Thank you in advance!

Steven

I don't think it's possible to LOG IN. To open a specific web page via a scheduled task - YES.

What you want is a security risk and so probably why it's not available.

goombawaho, Thank you for the reply!

I kept running into the security issue with this.
Was thinking there may be a way to get VB6 or a VBA chunk of code to do this.
Am learning C++ but that is not an option at the moment.
I have seen programs do this and know it is possible, just not sure how it is done.

I am open to all ideas!

When a door closes another door should open, but if it doesn't then go in through the window.

Should be do-able using AutoHotkey... but you'll probably have to compile the script so Task Scheduler runs the compiled executable rather than the .AHK script.

Have a look at How to insert userid and password and press Enter in browser?

Also, How to use Task Scheduler with AHK

For info... download the latest version of AutoHotkey from http://ahkscript.org/. Also, download SciTE4AutoHotkey from the same site (lower down the page). SciTE4AutoHotkey is an IDE for AutoHotkey that makes it far easier to write, debug and compile AHK scripts.

For AutoHotkey support, use either of the 2 main AutoHotkey forums:

http://www.autohotkey.com/board/forum/48-support/

Hope this helps...
