Hi,
We have just had a system made with Clarion (V6 I think) at work. The program works fine on a stand alone PC.
But we are trying to use is over a wireless network on a Win 2000 server. Things were going ok until about 2 weeks ago.
About every 5 minutes we get several messages pop up, which include "Disk Error", "Unable to open". I can post the actual errors as I took a screen shot (I will post tomorrow as I am at home the moment)
The guy who made this for us has basically said that it’s OUR problem and it’s our network.
His email to me said “But Neil, Balloons (the name of the program) is running on networks with no problems. I have a system developed in the same development tool in over 100 installations, varying from Win95 to XP and they have no problems, therefore I am lying the blame directing at your hardware/network, a lame excuse maybe, but if no-one else is experiencing it then it cant be the software. Sorry, but been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.”
However we are using other apps like Outlook (sharing calendars and contacts) and we dot get any problems with access or disk errors, our internet and email is also via the network and we have no problems there. So I would almost exclude a radio problem.
I just have no idea as I know nothing about clarion.
Can anyone help me on this one?
The workstations are using the normal Map Drive option to run the clarion program.
Thanks for looking,
Neil Willis
